Cancer Awareness Programme
Episteme’ Science club of Mar Osthatheos Training College Perumpilavu in association with IQAC conducted a "Cancer Awareness Programme" on 22nd November 2022.The welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Nisha Mammu (Asst. Prof in Natural Science). A talk by Raji V G, Health Inspector in charge of Perumpilavu Primary Health Center was held at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium.
National Cancer Awareness Day is observed every year
on November 7 in order to raise awareness about cancer and to make it a global
health priority. According to World Health Organization, cancer is considered
to be the second most fatal disease. The theme for World Cancer Day 2022 - 2024
is ' close the care gap'. The theme focuses on the inequality in the
distribution of Cancer care.
The coordinators of the program were Mrs. Nisha Mammu
(Asst.Prof in Natural Science) option and Mrs Sindhu K (Asst.Prof in Physical
Science).. The session dealt with different types of cancer, it's prevention,
diagnosis and treatment. The session was very interesting and informative. It
ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Rashida P( Natural Science)
